Are Your Passwords Secure?

Is Your Password on the List?

According to NordPass, a cybersecurity company that sells password managements services, the top 10 most common passwords in Canada in 2021 included "password," "qwerty," "abc123" and variations of "123456”. The 11th most common password was “hockey,” and “canada” was 15th.

A weak or easily guessed password can be cracked in under a second!

To make your passwords more secure, NordPass suggests using a unique password for every account and making each password at least 12 characters long with a combination of numbers, letters and symbols.

Using a password manager to help you keep track of your passwords and using multi-factor authentication, such as a text message code or an authenticator app, is also recommended.
